How Grass-fed Can Save the Family Dairy

The dairy industry is changing rapidly—consolidation and vertical integration of production and supply chains, as well as market trends, are having a significant impact on the future viability of family dairy farms in the Midwest and beyond.

In this webinar, Laura Paine of Dairy Grazing Apprenticeship will review the history and current forces driving these changes, the subsequent regional impacts (economic, environmental, and social), and how grass-fed markets can provide opportunities for family farms to adapt and thrive. Through DGA’s research and case studies of farm transitions, this webinar will show how farms in states such as Wisconsin—America’s Dairyland—can use regenerative grazing, dairy processing expertise, and high quality specialty products to create healthy and profitable products that preserve terroir while improving ecosystems.

This webinar was recorded July 10th, 2015.
