Illinois Grazing Planning Training

The Pasture Project, in partnership with Illinois Grazing Lands Coalition and Illinois NRCS, is excited to offer a grazing planning training for Illinois technical service providers this summer! This training is open to all Illinois-based agricultural educators and technical service providers intending to support producers integrating regenerative grazing into their operations. 

Register for the training here by July 15th! Illinois-based educators and educators who serve Illinois producers will be prioritized for available spaces.

Dates

Online – Mon/Wed July 19, 21, 26, 28, and Tues Aug 3 from 1-3 PM CT

Pasture Walks – September 9, 14-16, locations TBA

Who:

This training is open to all Illinois-based agricultural educators and technical service providers intending to support producers integrating regenerative grazing into their operations. Consider registering if you are:

  • University Extension agent
  • Government agency natural resources and/or agricultural staff
  • Nonprofit agricultural educator and/or technical service provider
  • Consultant or private business employee serving agricultural producers

Training Structure

This free multi-day training will provide technical training on the science and decision making process for planning and implementing successful prescribed grazing systems. This series will take a hybrid online and in-person approach to instruction, and will include:

  • Access to Pasture Project’s online Regenerative Grazing for Soil Health course.
  • Five two-hour live virtual sessions with Brian Pillsbury, retired Wisconsin NRCS State Grazing Land Specialist.
  • September pasture walks with Illinois NRCS staff.

The online portion of the training will be offered using the Zoom videoconferencing platform. Participants are expected to attend all five online sessions (see schedule below).
